When the followers of Jesus brought the young children to him, that he should touch them and the disciples rebuked those followers, Jesus was much displeased, and said unto them, suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein –Mark 10:13-15
Considering how important the children are to God, the Church is tasked with the responsibilities of ensuring the protection of children from all forms of violence, exploitations, abuse and neglect and more so train them in the way of the Lord so that when they grow up, they will not depart from it. This is because they are an heritage of the Lord –Psalms 127:3 and out of their mouth (prayers and song) is God’s ordained strength –Psalms 8:2.
At Thou Art The Christ, the Children’s Church is an integral part of the Adult Church. It is established to expose the little children to all the provision of grace, enable them to have the basic Christian experience and assist them to live a victorious Christian life. Its programs and activities are structured to evangelize, teach and disciple the little children for Jesus so as to align their growth with the word of God. They are then moved to hear, know and share the love of God with other children and the community.
The Church Rules of Conduct also requires a parent to play a supplementary role of bringing up their children in the fear of the Lord from home, coming with them in the Church and monitoring their participation in the Children’s Church and the Youth Ministry.
